Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Compound mobile app and the website at compoundfit.app (together, "Compound"), provided by Hieu Luu, a sole proprietor based in California ("we," "us"). By creating an account or using Compound, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use Compound.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Compound. If you're under 18, you must have a parent or legal guardian's permission. By using Compound, you represent that you meet these requirements.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us at hello@compoundfit.app if you suspect unauthorized access.

Subscriptions and billing

Compound offers auto-renewing subscriptions ("Compound Pro") with monthly and annual options.

• Free trial. The annual plan includes a 7-day free trial for eligible users. You can cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged.
• Auto-renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your Apple ID is charged at the price shown at the time of purchase.
• Cancellation. You can cancel anytime through your iPhone's Settings → App Store → Subscriptions. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple under their policies — submit refund requests at reportaproblem.apple.com.
• Price changes. We may change subscription prices. Existing subscribers will receive notice and an opportunity to cancel before any new price applies.

Health disclaimer

Compound provides general fitness and nutrition information for educational and informational purposes only. We are not licensed medical providers, dietitians, or personal trainers. Compound is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting a new exercise program or making changes to your diet, especially if you have a medical condition, take medication (including GLP-1 medications), are pregnant, or have an eating disorder. Stop and seek medical care if you experience pain, dizziness, or other symptoms during exercise. You use Compound at your own risk.

Your content

You retain ownership of the content you create in Compound (meal photos, workout notes, posts, comments). By posting content in social features, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content within the App as needed to provide the service. You're responsible for the content you post and represent that you have the right to share it.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Compound for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
• Interfere with or disrupt the service, the servers, or other users.
• Post content that is harassing, abusive, defamatory, sexually explicit, or that infringes others' rights.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
• Scrape, copy, or resell the App or its content.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

Community moderation

To keep social features safe, Compound provides:

• Content filtering. Posts and comments are screened for slurs and sexually explicit material before they appear. Content that fails the filter is rejected at submission.
• Reporting. Any post, comment, or user can be reported from the in-app moderation menu. We review reports and take action — including content removal and account suspension — within 24 hours.
• Blocking. Blocking another user hides their content from you and yours from them, and prevents follows in either direction.
• Repeat violators. Accounts that repeatedly post objectionable material or harass others will be removed.

Our intellectual property

The App, the Site, and all related software, designs, branding, and content (excluding user content) are owned by us and protected by copyright and other laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use Compound for its intended purpose. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership to you.

Termination

You can stop using Compound and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if continuing to provide the service becomes impractical. After termination, sections that by their nature should survive (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations, governing law) will remain in effect.

Disclaimers

Compound is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, accurate, or that AI-generated estimates (including calorie and protein estimates from meal scans) will be correct. Use these estimates as a guide, not as medical or nutritional precision.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of Compound. Our total liability for any claim related to Compound will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $100. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations — in those cases, our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted.

Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify us against claims and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your misuse of Compound, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third party's rights.

Apple-specific terms

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you. The App must be used in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the date at the top. Material changes will be communicated through the App or by email. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
